The Glasgow Economic Commission recommended that economic development efforts in Glasgow should focus on sectors with the potential to generate a catalytic impact to wealth and employment creation.

These are the sectors where the Commission judged that Glasgow had the best prospects for future growth given its existing and potential assets, strong global growth and that provided the best ex ante evidence for the investment of public and private resources to help the city economy grow and develop.
