Managing Director, Scottish Enterprise

Paul is Scottish Enterprise’s Managing Director of Sectors and Commercialisation.

Paul’s industry responsibilities cover sectors in which Scotland has competitive advantage and which offer global opportunities for sustainable economic growth. These are – Energy, Financial Services, Food and Drink, Life Sciences, ICT and Tourism along with other growth sectors in Scotland. He is also responsible for setting strategic direction and policies for the organisation as a whole with the Scottish Enterprise Board.

Paul has worked for Scottish Enterprise for 18 years. Immediately prior to his current role Paul was Senior Director Infrastructure responsible for a £100m annual investment programme across Scotland. In his career to date, Paul has helped deliver a range of flagship projects across the industry sectors such as Edinburgh’s £200m life science BioQuarter, Clyde Waterfront £1bn Regeneration and Edinburgh International Conference Centre and financial centre.

Paul is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh where he gained a BSc (Hons) and has an MBA from Strathclyde Graduate Business School. Paul is married with three children.
